Thailand's Budget!

Hey! it should be the article that you are looking for, right!?!

I can give you a spoiler first that i was going there with Backpack budget and umm i spent less than 5mio Rupiah (include airplane ticket, hostel, food, others transportation, entrance fee) for 2.5 days in Bangkok, 3.5 days in Phuket (include Phiphi island).

Here are the details.

Airplane Ticket.

• CGK - BKK Airasia airplane, price Rp. 708,900. (0kg baggage)

• BKK - HKT Thai Viet Jet, price Rp, 228,000. (0kg baggage) + Baggage fee around 932 Baht (40kg aka 2 person baggage) divided by 4 = 233 Baht aka Rp. 108,112.

• HKT - JKT Malindo airplane transit in Malaysia for 2hours only, price Rp. 1,197,400. (20kg baggage)

Total of Airplane Ticket Rp. 2,242,412.

Hostel.

• Hom Hostel & Cooking Club Bangkok, price Rp. 422,080 for 2 nights aka 211,040/night.

• Fulfill Hostel Phuket, price Rp. 438,258 for 3 nights aka 146,086/night.

Total of Hostelexpense is Rp.860,338.

I have prepared airplane tickets and hostel expense since i was in Jakarta and i only brought Rp. 3,000,000 for my pocket money and Phiphi island expense.

When i went there, the currency of 1 baht is equal to 464 Rupiah. So it means i brought around 6,400 Baht.

Phiphi island.

• Boat from Phuket to Phiphi Island, price 400 Baht - Rp. 185,600. (bought the ticket from the hostel)

• Boat from Phiphi to Phuket Island, price 500 Baht - Rp. 232,000. (bought the ticket in the harbour)

• Entrance fee Phiphi island, price 20 Baht - Rp. 9280.

• "Private" Boat to go around Phiphi island for 3 hours (Excl. touch down Maya Bay), price 700 Baht/people - Rp. 324,800/people.

• Motorcycle parking fee in the harbor, probably around 10 hours, price 100 Baht divided 2 people means 50 Baht/people.

• Btw, we didn't buy any food or drink there, because everything is so expensive. Well i think the cheapest food you can get only in Seven Eleven, but it's not "cheap" though.

Total of Phiphi island expense is 1650 Baht - Rp. 765,600.

Phuket island.

• Taxi from Airport to Full Hostel, price 700 Baht divided by 4 people means 175 Baht.

• Rent a motorcycle, 1 motorcycle price 250 Baht/day and the other one price 200 Baht/day. So the total is (200+250) x 2 days = 1100 Baht divided by 4 people means 275 Baht.

• Food:

• Every morning we were having a breakfast in the hostel for free.

• In the afternoon, we ate around beach and I spent:

• Weekend Market - 50 Baht - Sea food.

• Around Naiharn Beach - 100 Baht - Pork, meat and rice.

• Around Hostel (After back from Phiphi Island) - 100 Baht - Pork and rice.

• Airport area - 150 Baht - Pork, rice and noodles.

• In the evening, we ate street food and I spent around 300 Baht for 2 days - Thai tea, Mango sticky rice and another Thai food. (we ate in the same place twice, because its really hard to get some food at night in the Phuket for real!!)

Total of Phuket island expense is 1150 Baht - Rp. 533,600.

Bangkok.

• We move around Bangkok by train, taxi, tuk-tuk also boat.

• Taxi from airport to Hom Hostel, price 300 / 4 people = 75 Baht.

• Train, price 176 / 4 people = 44 Baht for one trip. We went anywhere by train and for 2.5 days we took 6 trip (round trip to grand palace for once and round trip to Chatucak for twice), price 44 x 6 trip = 264 Baht.

• Boat to temple, price 120 / 4 people = 30 Baht. (round trip)

• Toll to the airport 75 Baht and taxi to the airport 260 Baht, total 335 / 4 people = 83.75 Baht.

• Tuktuk, i think around 1-2km, price 40 Baht / 4 people = 10 Baht.

• Total for transportation: 462.75 Baht - Rp. 214,716.

• Food:

• Every morning (umm not really morning actually) we were having a brunch in the hostel for free.

• While i was in Bangkok i only ate twice for lunch. First is Padthai that we got around the temple and one more is kind of a noodle as well but i forget the name but it's thai food as well that we got around hostel. Both of them have the same price! 50 Baht - Rp. 23,200 plus drink i spent 20 baht for Thai Tea.

• I also only had twice for dinner there. First is Burger King that we got around Hostel and one more is Pork with rice that we got in the market. For burger package, the price is totally same as Indonesia's price, i spent around 120 Baht and for Pork+rice 50 Baht+20 Baht for drink.

• Total for food: around 330 Baht - Rp. 153,120.

Total of Bangkok expense is 792.75 Baht - Rp. 367,836.

So the summary is

• Total of Airplane Ticket Rp. 2,242,412.

• Total of Hostel Rp. 860,338.

• Total of Phiphi island 1650 Baht - Rp. 765,600.

• Total of Phuket island 1150 Baht - Rp. 533,600.

• Total of Bangkok 792.75 Baht - Rp. 367,836.

• Sum: Rp. 4,768,786.

So if you see there's travel agent shout out "cheap package to Bangkok with price 4mio for 4d3n, just for Bangkok."

I can tell you that's standard, not cheap.
