Happy New Year everyone! Long time no see!

Sorry releasing too late for this article, but, i made up my 2020 resolution to have at least one content per month

So here my very first content in 2020! it's still about my Japan trip, but this time i will focus the writing on the expenses

Japan is expensive? YES! BUT! if you minimize shopping and you are not food hunter, then it can be not "that" expensive

I have mentioned in my last post that my purpose to go anywhere is to see the view and have some nice photos.

Well, lets to the point, here the details of my expenses:

Here are some expenses that i spent as a starter kit from Jakarta

  • Airplane ANA Air - Antavaya travel: Rp. 6,420,000

  • Hostel in Osaka for 4days 3night - Airbnb: Rp. 637,273 (Rp, 1,911,821 / 3)

  • Homestay in Osaka for 7days 6night - Airbnb: Rp. 900,963 (Rp. 2,702,890 / 3)

  • Modem - My Republic: Rp. 159,000

  • Jrpass 7days (only Hokuriku Arch Pass) - Anawae Travel on Tokopedia (Indonesia e-Commerce): Rp. 2,932,000

  • Universal ticket - HIS Travel Agency on Tokopedia: Rp. 989,000

  • Disney ticket - HIS Travel Agency on Tokopedia: Rp. 989,000

Total for Airplane, Airbnb, Modem, Jrpass, Entertainment ticket: Rp. 13,003,168

Notes:

I have really really bad experience with HisTravel Tokopedia, so i don't recommend you to buy it there.

I have good experience with Anawae Travel, Antavaya Travel and MyRepublic, so i recommend you to buy it there.

Here some expenses that i spent in Japan:

Transport: Rp. 1,062,846

I have additional transport expense, because:

  1. I didn't have all nation JRpass, i just bought Hokuriku Arch Pass.

  2. I just bought for 7 days ticket pass and i was there for 11 days.

  3. I have several bus trip and local train trip, which its not covered by JRpass.

Food: Rp. 1,559,271

It's for 11 days! isn't it cheap? even with that amount, we have tried Takoyaki, Sushi, Udon, Gyukatsu as well. We dont deliberately saving money, but me and my companions are just not into food hunting, so we just bought anything when we were hungry.

The secret we spent less on food expenses because we cooked several night and morning. We did it because we want to try Japan seasoning and because meat is cheap there. The result! it taste really great! even we brought some seasoning to Jakarta.

Shopping: Rp. 21,221,081

  • To be honest, i spent for buying iPhone around 10 mio for myself.

  • Around 6mio, i spent for food&mini stuff as souvenirs. (Ramen, Chocolate, Chopsticks, etc..)

  • Around 3mio, i spent for clothes as souvenirs. (7-8 pacs)

  • Around 2mio, i spent for my things like mask, clothes, sunblock, etc..

I never calculate my shopping bag before i pay in the cashier, i just try to don't take some stuff that expensive, but it's still killing me, hehehe.

Summary i spent in Japan for transport, food and shopping: Rp. 23,843,198.

Then total that i spent for Japan is 36,846,366.83.

without shopping only Rp. 15,625,285 for 11 days and for 3 cities.

So if you will go there below 11 days and only 1 city, absolutely the expense would be lower than mine.

I think that's it my dear diary about my expenses in Japan! See you in another post!
